Is there anybody else out there who is conscious of the precipitous slide our society has experienced in the last 50 years? Maybe only us older folks are aware of how far we have fallen. I’m not trying to claim that things were Nirvana when I was a kid. Maybe we were just not aware of the evil that existed then, but I don’t think that is the case. I firmly believe we are headed for a world much like the pre-flood world of Noah.

The LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intention of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And the LORD regretted that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him to his heart.
All evil all the time.
As a young boy we went to the movies and saw cowboy heroes who told the truth and protected the innocent. Every TV adventure was a small morality play. There was always a good vs evil drama and the good guys always won. Of course that is not the way the world is, but that was the ideal that we could look up too. Now every movie and TV program is filled with evil, violence, sex, dishonesty and death. There are no good guys. There are no winners, just bad guys who are a little smarter or more violent than other bad guys.
We had sports figures to look up to who played hard and clean. When Jim Brown scored a touchdown, he gave the ball to the ref and walked back to the sideline. He didn’t run around beating his chest and screaming about being the greatest thing since sliced bread. A linebacker makes a tackle and does a dance? That’s your job moron!!! Sports personalities were not cheating with steroids and performance drugs. The norm was fair play and humility. Now dishonesty and narcissism is what children see.
Every day we hear of some young person shooting innocent people and then usually shooting themselves. In the midst of this random violence the liberal left propose taking way all guns. Guns are not the problem. The problem is the people with the guns. You cannot have young people sitting in front of a computer screen for hours playing extremely violent video games where they act out the slaughter of thousands in bloody scenarios, without a bad effect. They go to the movies and see Chainsaw Massacre 12 or Zombies eating people. What do we expect our young people to do when they are allowed a steady diet of evil and violence.
We live in a country where every 26 seconds a baby is murdered in the womb. A black theologian recently declared that the most dangerous place for a black person was in his mother's womb. 1.2 million murdered babies this year, most because a baby would be an inconvenience. Death and murder is now called a “choice”.
While he was the United States Surgeon General, Dr. C. Everett Koop stated publicly that in his thirty-eight years as a pediatric surgeon , he was never aware of a single situation in which a preborn child's life had to be taken in order to save the life of the mother. He said that the use of this argument to justify abortion in general was a “smoke screen.”
Are we starting to see a trend here……………………..a culture of death?
Like the proverbial frog in the pot of boiling water metaphor, we are being slowly desensitized to the evil that is engulfing us.
As a small boy I remember the trauma that the murder of a little girl in our town caused the community. The horror of this act by a pedophile monster was in the newspapers and on TV for weeks. Now this type of thing is a routine occurrence in most communities. It’s no big deal. Unless there is a multiple murder nobody bats an eye.
I recently set a up a background investigation program at my church for all those who deal with children. In the process I found that there were over 100 registered sex offenders in my neighborhood. That does not even count all the unregistered sex predators and deviant lurking out there,
“As a man thinks, so he is.”
We are reaping what we have sown.
As we move toward Halloween, I remember the herds of kids out in their costumes and little bags full of candy, flooding the streets. Now in our neighborhood we are lucky to get 10 kids coming to the door. Usually little ones with parents standing right behind them. We used to leave just before dark and would come home several hours latter and would cover miles. Now it is way too dangerous to let your kids out alone. Evil people are just waiting to pounce on a small child. Evil people inject poison into candy and fruit.
Is there anybody else out there who can see what is happening.....................................anybody......
